Futurism Exhibition in Rome
The guided tour of the exhibition “The Time of Futurism”, hosted by the National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art in Rome, offers an extraordinary immersion in one of the most revolutionary artistic movements of the 20th century.
The exhibition celebrates the eightieth anniversary of the death of Filippo Tommaso Marinetti, founder of Futurism, and stands out for its focus on the link between art, science and technology. Through a wide selection of over 350 works, including paintings, sculptures, projects and period objects, we explore how the futurists interpreted the radical change in human sensitivity in response to the scientific innovations of their time.
The exhibition recounts key themes of Futurism, such as speed, space and the evolution of sensory perception, contextualizing them in a changing society. The exhibition features visual and literary masterpieces, as well as symbolic objects such as a seaplane and futuristic cars, which recall the love of modernity and progress.
The site-specific installations by Magister Art and Lorenzo Marini are unmissable, offering a contemporary look at futurist ideas, creating an engaging and multi-sensory experience.
