David Gilmour in Rome
After 2000 years, the Circus Maximus in Rome continues to entertain its spectators with extraordinary shows, and this time it will give Rome the incredible performance of the former Pink Floyd guitarist on stage, a stop which is part of the small tour that the artist has decided to undertake this in 2024 which will be followed by an equally important one at the Royal Albert Hall in London.
The Roman tour is characterized by a schedule of 6 evenings, from 27 September to 3 October, where we would have the pleasure of hearing Gilmour’s strings echo through the streets of the capital, and with the most passionate people from various age groups and origins from wait as early as the 26th on site.
After an initial phase of pre-sales reserved for Virgin Radio listeners and those who have pre-ordered the album “Luck and Strange”, general ticket sales have opened for a tour dedicated precisely to the new album, due out on the 6th. September. The tour represents an unmissable opportunity for fans to discover the artist’s new creations live.
However, it is important to underline that one should not expect a nostalgic repertoire of the great Pink Floyd classics. As stated by Gilmour himself, the focus will be mainly on his solo works and on the presentation of the new album, which promises to be a collection of artistic gems not to be missed. Yet, who can say if he won’t give the audience the magic of some historic solo, like the unforgettable one of “Comfortably Numb”?
Despite the setlist focused on new compositions, there is no reason to worry: the tradition of Pink Floyd and its members has always been synonymous with performances with attention to the smallest details. David Gilmour’s concerts, just like those of the historic band, are famous for their scenographic attention, with plays of lights, colours, images and effects that enhance the grandeur of the music and the depth of the live experience.
